Harry Sladich will soon leave his position as President & CEO of the Spokane Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau. His last day will be April 23. Well known in the tourism industry both regionally and nationally, Sladich has served in this position for the past five years and with his staff, has contributed greatly to Spokane tourism by growing the Spokane brand nationally and internationally. He was appointed by Governor Chris Gregoire to serve on the state Boards of Directors of both the Washington State Convention and Trade Center and WashingtonFilmWorks. His new role will be Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Red Lion Hotels Corporation, starting May 3, in which he will oversee all aspects of sales and marketing for all 45 Red Lion hotels in eight states and one Canadian province. We all wish you the best Harry! Congratulations on your new position!

Spokane’s own bakery, Great Harvest, at 2530 East 29th, turns 30 years old this month! And to celebrate they’ve rolled back their prices on their classic Honey Whole Wheat bread to just $1.80 a loaf, the same as it was in 1980. Jacque Sanchez and her bakers have been making whole wheat bread products for 30 years, long before it became trendy. They also bake a wide variety of breads and cookies that are actually good for you. The phone number is 509-535-1146.

Churchill's Steakhouse, located in the Joel Building at 165 S Post, will reopen today. The restaurant was destroyed by a devastating three-alarm fire back in July of 2008. Churchill's specializes in serving only 100% USDA Prime beef and offers an extensive and impressive wine list. The main floor of the restaurant is less formal and seats 82. The downstairs bar features a more casual atmosphere and affordable fare and a private dining room accommodates up to 49. Grand opening specials will be offered the week of April 5-9. Churchill's will be open from 4:00pm to 10:00pm Monday-Thursday and 4:00pm to 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday. For reservations, call 509-474-9888. Visit the website at www.churchillssteakhouse.com.
