Spokane Tribe hosting JOB FAIR Today and Tomorrow

The Spokane Tribe is hosting a Job Fair today, January 31 and tomorrow, February 1 at the downtown Spokane Work Source office located at 130 South Arthur. Hours are 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm, first come, first serve basis.

The Spokane Tribe is preparing to open its new Arby's restaurant at its West Plains property and will hire 35 to 40 new employees. The new Arby's will be located within the Spokane Tribe's gas station-convenience store SPOKO Fuel located at Highway 2 and Craig Road adjacent to the city limits of Airway Heights. Arby's is expected to open for business in early March 2012.

Spokane Tribal Chairman, Gregory Abrahamson says the Spokane Tribe is committed in its goal of providing local jobs for Spokane tribal members and neighboring community members while at the same time decreasing unemployment rates. The Spokane Tribe sees a 54% unemployment rate on the Spokane Indian Reservation and neighbors living within the city limits of Airway Heights suffers from a 32% unemployment rate.

The newly created Arby's jobs combined with the SPOKO Fuel jobs will bring approximately 70 jobs total to the Spokane Tribe Economic Project (STEP). To learn more about the STEP development please visit; www.stepspokane.com.
