The rumors are swirling about Anthropologie

Everyone is talking about the popular upscale women's clothing retailer Anthropolgie coming to Spokane. Because of a commercial building permit issued last Friday, several news organizations have reported the store is coming to the space being vacated by Mobius at 811 West Main. Well in the commercial real estate business a deal isn't a deal until the lease is signed and River Park Square says it has not been signed yet. Anthropologie currently operates over 175 retail stores worldwide. Other northwest locations are downtown Seattle, University Village, Bellevue Square, Portland, Tigard, and Boise. When the lease is signed, How's Business will announce that Spokane is joining that list of cities.

David's Pizza to open by month's end



Mark Starr is reopening David's Pizza by the end of this month in a new location, 803 N. Post at Mallon, across from the Arena ticket office. The menu is basically the same as their former GU location and they will still serve their pizza at Famous Ed's at 57th at Regal.

YMCA Announces New Human Resources Director

The YMCA of the Inland Northwest announces that Jessica Matthews has accepted the role of Human Resources Director following the retirement of Jason Vingelen from the position.

Formerly with Macy's, Inc. and The Boeing Company, Jessica brings with her experience in human resource management, and leading strategic workforce and talent management initiatives. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute.

'War Bonds: Love Stories from the Greatest Generation'



Local columnist, reporter, and author Cindy Hval is releasing a new book called, 'War Bonds: Love Stories from the Greatest Generation.' The book tells the stories of marriages and families forged during and after World War II, as the Greatest Generation became the backbone of our society. These relationships were tested and thrived under the most difficult circumstances. "This book is a celebration of love, sacrifice, and commitment between men and women," said Hval.

Hval will read selected excerpts from 'War Bonds' at Auntie's Bookstore, 402 W Main on Sunday, February 22 at 3:30pm and signing copies afterward.


Paul Terrell joins Rainmaker Creative

Rainmaker Creative, a creative design and marketing firm, welcomes Paul Terrell to its team as a Visual Communications Designer. Terrell has hit the ground running at Rainmaker Creative, working on both web and print projects.

Kids at Heart Lunch to Benefit Sacred Heart Children's Hospital

The 10th annual Kids at Heart lunch will be held Tuesday, February 24, at the Spokane Convention Center. This free 'ask' event is conducted in the spirit of fun, but has a very serious purpose: to bring lifesaving treatment and services to children and families served by Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. Doors open at 11:30 and the program begins at noon. This year, Dr. David Burns will share information about the hospital's pain-free initiative, a world-class program focused on eliminating all unnecessary pain from a child's hospital experience.
