Convention Sales Update from visit Spokane

The final countdown is on, the anticipation is building and the list is growing. The $55-million expansion of the Spokane Convention Center is expected to be complete mid-February. Since the July 2013 groundbreaking, crews have been working hard on the 91-thousand square foot addition. Meanwhile, the sales teams at Visit Spokane and the Convention Center have been making progress of their own.
"The physical difference in the Convention Center is, itself, exciting," says Keith Backsen, Visit Spokane Vice President of Sales & Services. "But it's the additional attention from meeting planners that we're now getting that's really going to pay off."

Backsen says that the expansion has put Spokane on some 70 new meeting planner lists. "In the past, Spokane would be considered, but we couldn't make the cut to the short list, for one reason or another. Now, we are making those short lists because the expansion allows us to meet a whole new set of needs."

If you belong to an organization looking for meeting or convention space, contact Keith at kbacksen@visitspokane.com.

Moon Creek Gourmet Sweets exists by popular demand

It all started as a novel way to celebrate the Christmas Season with neighbors and friends. Cookies, fudge and divinity were the mainstays, but one year (about 2010) Jean Linstrum, and husband John decided to try something different, Caramels, and a legend was born. With a few tweaks here and there, their recipe evolved into the mouth-watering, memory making treat that their neighbors and friends still demand.

Moon Creek Gourmet Sweets derived its name from Jean Linstrum's (founder and owner) family ranch located in eastern Montana on Moon Creek Road. The full flavored goodness of the carefully chosen natural ingredients in Jean's caramels reflect the spirit of independence and hard work required to be a successful rancher or caramel maker.

Moon Creek Gourmet Sweets caramels, hand crafted with no preservatives, fillers or stabilizers enables merchants a chance to offer their customers something you can't get from mass production: a really good caramel treat. Choose from their two best flavors, Butter Caramel or Salted Caramel. Additional flavors like Espresso Caramel, Butter Rum, Pecan Caramel and Cherry Caramel are available through special order.
