Strideline Knocks the (Spokane Skyline) Socks off Local Charities

The Spokane office of Strideline, a Seattle-based sock company, is helping local charities, feet first. For the second year in a row, Strideline's Spokane office, located in the east central community, recently donated $1,750 worth of its popular 'Spokane Skyline' socks to the Spokane Midnight Basketball Association and another $1,395 worth of socks to the Tree of Sharing.

Sam Talkington, Market Manager of Strideline's Spokane office, says that these charities have special meaning for him. "I was raised in one of the most financially depressed communities in Spokane and I know I was a recipient of a Tree of Sharing gift at least once." Tree of Sharing is a non-profit organization that provides holiday gifts for disadvantaged people, and distributes the Strideline socks as stocking stuffers. The Spokane Midnight Basketball Association, an outreach program that offers a safe, constructive alternative for youth in the central urban neighborhood of Spokane's School District No. 81, awards the Strideline socks to participating youth.

Talkington came up with the original concept for Strideline's popular Spokane Skyline sock, which displays the Monroe Street Bridge, clock tower and pavilion, after connecting with the founders of Strideline, Jake Director and Riley Goodman, while attending the University of Washington Foster School of Business. The sock comes in at least 13 color combinations, including the Washington State University, Eastern Washington University, and Seattle Seahawks colors.

Strideline sells the Spokane Skyline socks on its website, strideline.com and from kiosks in Northtown, River Park Square, and the Spokane Valley Mall. For more information contact Sam Talkington at 206-473-8340.
