D. Lish's Hamburgers to donate 20% of Thursday sales to 'Play For Gracie Fund'



This Thursday, August 7, from 10:30 am to 9 pm, D. Lish's Hamburgers at 1625 North Division is doing a fund raiser, donating 20% of their daily total sales going to the 'Play For Gracie Fund'.

Gracie Snider was a 10 year old Spokane girl who played soccer for the Spokane Foxes and passed away in a car accident on 5/3/14. Her family has set up the 'Play for Gracie Fund' with donations going towards setting up a scholarship fund for kids who desire to play soccer, but can't afford the costs. So stop by D. Lish's Hamburgers this Thursday for great food and to donate to a great cause!


Travelodge at Convention Center now Best Western Plus City Center

Travelodge Spokane at the Convention Center has just completed a nearly one million dollar renovation and rebranding to the Best Western Plus City Center. The property on Spokane Falls Boulevard and Browne, across from the Convention Center and Riverfront Park has been family-owned and operated since its inception in 1996.

Spokane Housing Ventures announces new Executive Director



The largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing in Spokane and Lincoln Counties has a new executive director. Spokane Housing Ventures announced today that Fred Peck has replaced longtime director Jayne Auld, who announced her retirement this April.

Peck has served as Spokane Housing Venture's Chief Financial Officer for the past five years. He took over the new position August 1. Peck is a CPA, holds a Master's Degree in Accounting and Financial Management and has served on a number of civic and professional boards. Spokane Housing Ventures owns and manages 21 properties and 895 housing units throughout the two counties. Their units are at 97 percent occupancy and provide homes for more than 2,000 people. A key goal is to minimize homelessness as much as possible. The impact of keeping people off the street can mean the difference between life and death.

Peck will work with a team of 38 people who work in the Spokane-based offices on 715 East Sprague Ave. and at the sites.

Husky Idealease Expands for the Long Haul

Husky Idealease announces the completion of its building expansion in Spokane at 910 N Thierman Road. Business growth has fueled the expansion, which includes a new corporate logo, an update of the building, and the addition of more services.

Husky Idealease provides truck rentals, truck leasing, dedicated maintenance, and emergency breakdown services. New services include on-site Diesel Particulate (DPF) filter cleaning, which provides customers a faster turnaround and shorter downtime. In addition, the company now offers truck alignments through an agreement with Gene's Alignment.

Husky Idealease began in Spokane with just one salesperson working out of the dealership in 1987. In 2005, it leased three service bays and hired a dedicated mechanic. Today it employs 11 people, operating out of a dedicated facility with nine truck bays, a parts department, and a customer waiting area. Husky Idealease is a member of the Idealease network with more than 430 locations nationwide, servicing more than 45,000 trucks and trailers.
