Beyond Pink Show and Fundraiser this Friday

October is national breast health month and 'Beyond Pink' is an event to raise funds for women who could not otherwise afford a certified breast thermogram. This tool in early breast disease detection is not often covered by insurance. It acts as an early warning system and can see breast disease before a lump has formed. Women who want to take a pro-active role in their breast health now have the ability to monitor it and avoid giving a tumor a chance to form. Thermography is safe, non-invasive, and radiation free.

The Beyond Pink designer bra fashion show and fundraiser will be at the Masonic Center in downtown Spokane this Friday, October 7th from 5-9 pm. There will be vendors, a silent auction, appetizers, and a no host bar. The fun starts at 5pm, fashion show and live auction start at 7pm. The show and auction will be emceed by KXLY's Mark Peterson.

For more information or to purchase tickets go to www.BeyondPink.net, or email Charlie Brewer at charlie7104@hotmail.com. Tickets are $35 for the event.

Share the beauty through Project Beauty Share

Beauty lovers are invited to join Project Beauty Share for the Annual Fall Beauty Bash. Project Beauty Share is a year-round initiative to collect beauty and hygiene products and distribute them through local agencies to women whose circumstances do not allow them to afford these items.

Project Beauty Share invites you to the 3rd Annual Beauty Bash on October 19th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Nectar Tasting Room, located at 120 North Stevens in downtown Spokane. Join your fellow beauty lovers for a glass of wine, some light bites, and a brief presentation. In addition to sharing beauty, there will be an opportunity to mingle with representatives from the agencies that benefit from the donations. Your admission/donation of $10 entitles you to a ticket for a glass of wine and a special gift. We will also be accepting donations of new or gently used beauty and hygiene items. For more information on the Beauty Bash, please contact The Make/Up Studio at 509-455-7430.

It's easy to help. Look in your makeup bag. Is there a makeup color you never use because it just wasn't quite right after all? Do you have hotel shampoos, lotions or soaps from that last trip? Food stamps cannot be used to purchase these items that so many of us take for granted each morning. Donations can be made throughout the year to the Project Beauty Share main collection center at The Make-Up Studio.

Project Beauty Share recognizes that hygienic items are necessary for these women to maintain their cleanliness, their health and their dignity. Therefore, Project Beauty Share sorts through and sanitizes all donated products before distributing them to local women's shelters. For more information, please visit www.projectbeautyshare.org.
